PICK UP THE PHONE AND DOB IN GRAFFITI VANDALS
Acting Minister for Police, Kristina Keneally, today launched Crime Stoppers’ new Graffiti campaign Ms Keneally called on the public to help keep our streets clean by dobbing in graffiti vandals.

“The eyes of the public are the best weapons against graffiti, which costs the community millions of dollars each year,” Ms Keneally said. “The best defence against graffiti is members of the public picking up the phone to report not only the vandals but also the vandalised site.

Graffiti walls do not stop vandalism: study Providing legal locations does little to reduce tagging, report finds
Ottawa’s legal graffiti walls, which area graffiti artists fought to preserve when the zero-tolerance approach to graffiti was introduced last year, do not reduce the amount of graffiti, according to a report by city staff that recommends no more such walls be established.
